Urban & Town Planning

DCS&P Principal Martin A. Diaz-Yabor, FAIA has a master’s degree in Urban and Town Design, from the Prestigious Urban and Town Design Program from the University of Miami.  Mr. Diaz-Yabor has been designing Master Plans and Urban Development Plans, for over twenty years.  Mr. Diaz-Yabor was the first architect to get a Traditional Neighborhood District (TND) approved in Miami-Dade County.  Over the years he has designed several hundred masterplans. 

Mr. Diaz-Yabor is highly solicited by many Developers for his knowledge and innovative design concepts in Land Development, Master planning and Urbanism.  Having designed some of the largest tracts of land in the tri-county area he is well know in the Municipalities and well versed in the process required to obtain Master Plan approval.  Mr. Diaz-Yabor was one of the Architect/Planners selected by the Mayor of the City of Miami, the Honorable Manuel “Manny” Diaz, to be a consultant to him during the process, development and inception of the new City of Miami Zoning Code known as “Miami 21”. 

Mr. Diaz-Yabor also served on the “Blue-Ribbon” Committee under then Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez, in the development of the new streamlined Building and Zoning Code.  He also helped the Hon.  Don Slesnick, Mayor of the City of Coral Gables, with the “Green Building Initiative.  Mr. Diaz-Yabor has also served in several boards through the different municipalities in South Florida.  All this brings to the table tremendous knowledge and experience when dealing in Master planning and Urban & Town Design.
